FAQ

What is Diana Kay Publishing, the magazine?

Diana Kay Publishing, the magazine, is a quarterly literary publication (print magazine) for the Florida/Georgia region focused on helping new writers and bridging the gap between authors and readers.

Who are Diana and Kay?

Diana and Kay are sisters. Mothers. Writers. Editors. Lovers of the written word. Photographers. Artists.

What is inside the magazine?

Each edition will feature a city or town in Florida or Georgia, short stories, poetry, writing articles, feature authors, and writer's groups. You can also look forward to a challenging crossword puzzle.

What kinds of stories will Diana Kay Publishing include in the print magazine?

We want to see a variety of different types of stories. It would be easier to say what we will not accept horror, erotic/romantica, unnecessary violence. A note on Point of View: we strongly prefer third person past tense POV. While we will consider first person past tense POV, it is difficult to write well and therefore is more likely to receive a rejection. Alternative styles including present tense POV will not be considered. We are not a magazine looking to change conventional and accepted writing techniques (forms). We want to see well written short stories that will entertain our readers. Stories that will take us and our readers on a trip to a fictional reality.

Does Diana Kay Publishing pay for contracted work?

No. At this time Diana Kay Publishing is not a paying publisher. We hope to change this status in the future. We do offer our authors other benefits.
