Sony Dvd Writer Internal Drive
What new laptop do you recommend for my specifications?
I've been using a Medion Akoya for two years (I bought it to move to Morocco because it's tiny, and it has done its job well) and am ready to move up. I live on my computer (I'm a writer) and am looking for all the usual suspects - 1GB RAM, CD/DVD-R, internal wireless, at least 80GB hard drive. Memory card reader (Sony pro-duo) is preferable, but not necessary.
I will not buy an HP or a Compaq, but otherwise have few preferences. I'm considering the lowest level Mac but don't know if it's worth the $1,100 (which I don't really have).

HP business (e.g. NC-series) is better than the home ones... My hubby has HP NW9440... he has a PhD in 2 engineering majors... and he does a lot of research and stuff... so he has tons of applications that run 24/7 on his laptop...
BUT if you don't want HP at all... go for IBM (either R or T, R is cheaper than T)... I've had my IBM ThinkPad T30 for about 5-6 years and its still working great... I'm an engineering and business student... and I use my laptop alot...
