Our Guidelines

Diana Kay Publishing is excited to open submissions for our new magazine. Submissions are open to authors currently living in Florida or Georgia.

We welcome short stories between 2,000 and 7,000 words in length. But, please read these guidelines thoroughly before submitting. All works submitted must be your original creation, free of all legal constraints. In other words, you must own all copyright and publishing rights to your story.

You cannot have a contract with another publisher on work you’re submitting to Diana Kay Publishing. If the work has been previously published, we will only accept it if the rights have reverted to you. Unless otherwise agreed upon, Diana Kay Publishing retains One Time Print rights as part of our quartly print and online magazine. All rights revert to the authors on publication. We publish most genres and cross-genres of fiction. New authors welcome. All submissions must be in English. We strongly prefer 3rd person past tense POV.

These genres and cross-genres welcome:

Guaranteed rejections:
Fan fiction, Flash fiction, Erotica/Romantica, Pornography, works promoting hatred of any kind, violence or profanity not pertinent to the story line, imitations of any kind (Roberts, Tolkien, King), unimaginative plots, chatty dialogue (dialogue without purpose), flat characters, poorly written stories oozing with grammatical and spelling errors will be rejected for that reason alone.
