Later, it was razed to the ground. And the appearance of the castle now was constructed on the original foundation during 1370 and 1386. It was once used as court, prison and also the housing of the owner. The castle is around by beautiful moat, people can walk in the high wall around the city, and arcades stands at both sides. The layout of the castle is a rectangular, with a drum-shaped tower, and there is an internal courtyard surrounded by the residential, all of which represents the French construction style of medieval time.

Castle's decor and decorative is full of art atmosphere. You can see artworks and the supplies of the famous Dutch poet and writer Peter Kong Nai Luce Hooft everywhere. He lived here from 1609 to 1674. Herb garden is also worth visiting and the scenery there is fantastic. In the castle, we could overlook the inland lake of Zuiderzee made by Netherland's seafill project.

Tourists must be guided to visit the inside of the castle. castle was upholstered beautifully from Hooft times,it is almost open for a whole year. The Herb Garden deserves visiting too.
